Republic Polytechnic

Founded in 2002, Republic Polytechnic (often abbreviated to RP) was the first institution to leverageProblem-based Learning across all its diploma programmes.The higher learning site encourages students to challenge thought and think critically about what it is they’re learning, resulting in an engaging experience that allows students the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Course offerings are diverse and span across RP’s 7 Schools: Applied Science; Engineering; Hospitality; Infocomm;Management and Communication; Sports, Health & Leisure, and Technology for the Arts. Students can also explore global opportunities and learn about other cultures, with past students having visited Australia, India, Japan, USA, UK, Vietnam, Indonesia, and South Korea. Crucially, learning is supplemented with staff mentors, professional development, and real-world learning, ensuring students are well-equipped for life following graduation.

In terms of on-site facilities and services, RP students are given a wealth of resources, ranging from labs, research rooms, studios, modernised sports centres, a comprehensive Sound Studio, dedicated training kitchens and restaurants, and the Industry Centre – a comprehensive site for innovation and research. To ensure every student’s experience is truly their own, RP also gives students the opportunity to engage in up to 100 Co-Curricular Activities (or CCAs) to nurture their talent and personalise their time at the institution.

Overall then, Republic Polytechnic has continued to move from strength to strength since its founding in 2002. Course offerings are diverse, and nicely supplemented with global opportunities and a comprehensive range of on-site facilities and services. The institution’s approach to learning is refreshing and ensures students gain the necessary balancing between knowledge and applicability, resulting in a student cohort well-equipped to tackle the problems and issues that face the world today. Not only is learning refreshing, it’s effective: The overall employment rate for RP graduates is over 90% for fresh graduates, and over 95% for post-NS graduates.
