Let’s dive right into what to expect in the electrical comprehension test.
The Royal Air Force electrical comprehension test evaluates your understanding of electrical principles by giving you diagram-based multiple-choice questions. You will be presented with practical scenarios involving circuits, current flow, resistance, voltage, and component behaviour. Your task is to interpret each diagram accurately and determine the most logical outcome.
The Royal Air Force electrical comprehension test consists of 22 questions that need to be completed within 15 minutes.

The Royal Air Force sometimes gives sample questions, but generally, candidates use online electrical reasoning platforms and RAF-specific practice workbooks.
You may need simple reasoning for the RAF electrical comprehension test, such as “Higher resistance means lower current “ or “ Parallel circuits reduce resistance”, but detailed calculations are rarely needed.
