Now that we’ve done our research, let’s jump into the LVMH recruitment process!

LVMH Recruitment Process

The LVMH hiring process depends on the country, business sector, houses/maisons and the role that you are applying for, as each area requires specialist skills which LVMH and the houses may assess differently. Therefore, we will cover a general overview of the LVMH assessment process you are likely to encounter in your application.

Let’s start with the online application, which will be the first step of any LVMH application process.

LVMH Online Application

This first stage of your LVMH recruitment process is the online application. Find the available position online and apply once you have searched using the filters on the job offer search tool

You will be able to search all currently available positions by profession, location, level of experience, the business sector etc. or find a job directly by inputting the job offer number in the search tool.

Good to know: Candidates will be able to complete the form faster using their LinkedIn account, CV/Resume or a previous application to LVMH.

At this stage, you will be required to fill in personal details such as:

You will be required to submit your CV/Resume within this online application form. To increase your chances of getting your application accepted at LVMH, you must put in some extra effort in tailoring your CV/Resume to impress at this early stage.

Once your online application has impressed your LVMH reviewer, you may be invited to a telephone interview with a member of the HR team, or invited to take some online assessments

Keep reading as we cover each of these LVMH online tests in detail!

LVMH Online Assessments

If you are applying to LVMH graduate schemes such as the SPRING Graduate Program, you are likely to be invited to complete some online assessments. These LVMH online tests may include:

  1. Numerical Reasoning tests
  2. Verbal Reasoning tests
  3. Logical Reasoning tests
  4. Behavioural Assessments

LVMH Assessment Tip: Depending on the role you have applied for, these may also include practical or technical tests around the skills required for the role.

5 Best Tips to Ace the LVMH Practical Tests

  1. Research the relevant knowledge: Understand the technical aspects of the area, for example for fashion consider the various: fabrics, textiles, garment construction, and design principles. Revise the terminology and techniques used by LVMH.
  1. Brush up on your skills: For practical components of the tests such as sewing or draping, ensure to practice these skills plenty of time before the real test.

To help with your LVMH logical test practice, try to solve the below LVMH-style logical reasoning test question designed by our experts in under a minute.

LVMH may also assess candidates using behavioural assessments. Keep on reading to find out more!

LVMH Behavioural Tests

Behavioural assessments are often used by employers such as LVMH to assess candidates on key competencies required for the role. For example, a retail position within Louis Vuitton aims to find and hire candidates with excellent team player and customer service skills.

Good to know: One of the most common behavioural assessments used by top employers worldwide is the Situational Judgement Test (SJT), which examines how a candidate would respond to a scenario they are likely to face in the workplace.

Tune in to the below quick YouTube video to discover more about SJTs and our top tips to prepare for these assessments:

What is a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) | Guide for Job Hunters (PwC, Deloitte, Accenture)

Practice your SJT technique with us ahead of your LVMH behavioural assessments and access real questions, live test reports, and progress charts.

Similarly personality tests or questionnaires are often used by top employers such as LVMH to discover the best fit candidate for a role using the individual’s workplace preferences to match the job context. For example, a creative and outgoing candidate may be suitable for a marketing position at one of the many Maisons at LVMH.

How do employers such as LVMH use personality questionnaires to hire? Check out this video below to find out!

How Employers use Personality Questionnaires to Hire You | Guide for Big 4, Banks, Tech, FMCG

Gain first-hand insights into personality questionnaires ahead of your LVMH behavioural test with our Work Personality Questionnaire (WPQ) designed in-house to help discover what employers will look for in candidates.

Good to know: Test publishers and employers may use the terms behavioural and personality interchangeably when it comes to assessment. However, it is important to know that behavioural assessments look to assess how you would behave on the job. Personality assessments on the other hand, unlike SJTs, do not have ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers and look at your preferences. Of course, preferences will influence how someone behaves but these are certainly distinct concepts.

For graduates and professionals, the next stage of the application process is the LVMH Interviews. Let’s take a look at what to expect!

LVMH Interviews

Once you have impressed in your application form, you will be invited to a telephone interview with a member of the HR team at LVMH which may last between 20 to 30 minutes

The LVMH interview will depend on the maison and role you have applied for, as candidates may have more than one interview with a manager at this stage. These may be in the form of an in person interview which may be individual or in a group, which usually takes up to an hour.

LVMH Interview Tip: For some houses and roles such as the SPRING graduate program, these may be live video interviews which can last between 30 – 40 minutes. Check your interview invitation carefully before you prepare!

LVMH Interview Questions and Answers

Here are 3 example questions that are often asked across the many maisons at LVMH. Below we will cover a good potential answer you can consider when practicing your answers to LVMH interview questions:

  1. Can you give an example of a time when you provided excellent customer service?
  1. How do you handle and resolve conflicts with team members or colleagues?
  1. How do you prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced retail environment?

The best approach to answering these LVMH interview questions that we recommend is using the STAR technique. Discover more about the STAR technique and how you can best use this method in this video below:

How to Answer Competency-Based Interview Questions (STAR Technique) #shorts

Question 1: Can you give an example of a time when you provided excellent customer service?

Good Answer:
  • Situation: One example that comes to mind is a time when I was working at a high-end department store at my local mall.
  • Task: A customer came in who was looking for a designer handbag she had found online that was currently out of stock at our store.
  • Action: Instead of simply telling her that we were out of stock, I took the initiative to research the other store locations where the handbag may be available and checked with several other stores to confirm the availability.
  • Result: I was able to find the handbag at a store in a nearby city and had it shipped to our store for the customer to pick up within a week. She was incredibly grateful and even wrote a letter to my manager praising my customer service.

Question 2: How do you handle and resolve conflicts with team members or colleagues?

Good Answer:
  • Situation: During my previous role working with a team of retail assistants, there was a situation where the team leader and a few members of the team had a disagreement over the updated schedule list for the upcoming monthly rotation.
  • Task: We needed to resolve the conflict and find a solution that would be beneficial for all parties and the schedule as quickly as possible.
  • Action: I  promptly scheduled a meeting with the team leader on the weekend and discussed the key concerns for each team member. We were able to have a productive and open dialogue over the course of a few hours, and after discussing the issue, we came to a compromise for the schedule that worked for each team member.
  • Result: As a result, the schedule was quickly organised for the following month and each team member was satisfied with the new rotations. I also used this experience to prevent similar conflicts in the future by implementing better communication and collaboration strategies within the team.

Question 3: How do you prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced retail environment?

Good Answer:
  • Situation: As a retail assistant at the high-end department store, I was often juggling multiple tasks and going between several customers at once.
  • Task: I knew I had to prioritize and manage these tasks to ensure that the tasks were  completed efficiently and effectively, and that the customers were very satisfied with our service.
  • Action: I first created a to-do list for the responsibilities for each day, prioritizing these tasks based on their level of importance and urgency. For larger tasks, I set specific deadlines at the beginning of each week for each task to help me stay on track. I also made sure to regularly check in with my manager to ensure that I was aligned with the store’s priorities and to get any additional support if needed. Where required, I broke down large tasks into smaller, manageable activities and delegated some to my fellow co-workers, which helped me to stay organised and on track.
  • Result: As a result, I was able to consistently meet or exceed my sales goals, and received positive feedback from my manager and customers. I was also able to maintain a good balance between customer service and administrative tasks, which enabled me to exceed expectations.

LVMH Interview Tip: Depending on the role and maison you have applied to, you may also be required to tackle a business case study. Prepare for your LVMH case study with our practice Assessment Centre case studies and search for various case studies online (YT included).

Once you have impressed in your LVMH interviews, you may be invited to an additional round of assessment in the LVMH Assessment Centre.

LVMH Assessment Center

The LVMH assessment centres last all day and are held in Paris as part of the final stage of the application process for internship and graduate schemes such as the SPRING program. During the assessment centre, you will be assessed by senior members of the relevant house or maison you are applying to.

Below are the most commonly used assessment centre exercises you may expect in your LVMH assessment centre:

  1. Role Play Exercise
  2. Presentation Exercise
  3. Final Interview

So what are these exercises and how do I prepare for these? Continue reading to find out more!

Role Play Exercise

The LVMH role play exercise will focus around how you behave and perform in a situation you are likely to encounter in the role you are applying for. This may be in a group or individually with the assessor who will take on the role of a customer, co-worker, manager or client.

4 Key Tips to Ace your LVMH Role Play Exercise

  1. Understand the purpose of the exercise: consider the key skills and competencies that the LVMH role-play is designed to test. How would you demonstrate these skills?
  1. Refine Active listening: effective communication is key. Fully focus on the other person, maintain eye contact, and give verbal and nonverbal cues e.g. through nods and gestures of agreement.
  1. Practice: feel more comfortable and confident with the role through practicing with a friend or colleague. Aim to practice different strategies and approaches. When rehearsing, ensure you know what you are going to say and how.
  1. Manage conflict: Avoid confrontation and speaking over the role-player. Ensure you show that you empathise and make a point of this at least twice. Hear the role-player’s opinions and feelings and work together to reach a mutual win-win outcome.

Kickstart your LVMH role play practice with our assessment centre practice tests and discover how your role play exercise is likely to be assessed.

Presentation Exercise

The LVMH presentation exercise will involve analysing a case study relevant to the job role and Maison you are applying for, and presenting your conclusions in a 10-15 minute presentation. These exercises are often used for UK LVMH assessment centres and allow up to 30 minutes of analysing the scenario provided before beginning the presentation.

How to ace the LVMH presentation exercise?

  • Stay calm – You may be questioned on your analysis during the presentation. Remain calm, avoid confrontation and don’t speak over the assessor.
  • Understand the key facts – You are unlikely to be asked questions beyond the key facts in the information provided to you.
  • Keep in time – Check on the time throughout. Aim to avoid finishing your presentation too early as this can be viewed negatively by your LVMH assessors.
  • Involve the audience – Don’t forget to ask whether the assessor has any questions at the end. Find out if the assessor is looking for anything specific from the presentation.
  • Check your body language – Maintain relaxed eye contact throughout, and avoid walking around to retain the assessors’ attention.
