Stage 2

Online Assessment

Once you have uploaded your CV, you may have to complete some online assessments. These are designed to assess your suitability for the role you have applied for. The number and type of assessments will vary depending on the role you have applied for. Each assessment will have a deadline and will have to be completed within a set time limit.

Stage 3

Telephone Interview

A 45-60 minute telephone interview, with an accredited interviewer, to assess your motivation for applying and whether compatible with the bank’s values of being dependable, open and connected. You will also be asked about your general skills – be prepared to give examples of how you have demonstrated these skills.

Stage 4

Face-to-face Interview

A standard face-to-face interview, used to see whether you are enthusiastic about the opportunity to work at HSBC. Again, your abilities will be discussed and you should be prepared to give examples of where you have demonstrated these skills.

Stage 5

Assessment Centre

Depending on the programme or internship that you have applied for, you may be invited to take part in a half- or full-day assessment. The assessment will involve a series of tasks and interviews, and your performance will be rated, against defined criteria, by assessors.

If your visit to the assessment centre proves to be successful, you will be contacted shortly after to let you know what happens next.
